If you discover a sudden spike in energy bills without a corresponding usage increase or rate increase, this may be a red flag that your HVAC system is operating inefficiently. Common culprits may include dirty air filters, refrigerant leaks, or malfunctioning components that cause the system to work harder to maintain the desired temperatures. Frequent Cycling

You may not need an energy bill to tell you the system is working overtime. Unit Blows Hot Air

Refrigerant leaks are always a problem, but they can be a serious issue if the HVAC system is older and uses freon, as freon is poisonous. A refrigerant leak will result in moisture around the unit. However, moisture around the unit can also be from a blocked or clogged condensate drain, so it is important to contact a professional to confirm and repair the cause of the moisture.

High Humidity

While most people understand an HVAC system’s primary purpose is to cool the air in a house or commercial space, it also serves another purpose: to dehumidify. Systems Older Than a Decade or Frequent Issues

While it would be nice to install an HVAC system that would have a life as long as the home is cooling, the fact is these systems have a much shorter life span than our houses. Typically, you’ll realize that an HVAC system is at the end of its lifespan because it will begin to have frequent issues. Frequent issues may also be an indication of a defective system. We had Ramon from Aztil come out for our AC issue and he was absolutely wonderful. He was honest, thorough, professional, and took the time to explain everything clearly instead of trying to upsell or pressure us into unnecessary repairs.

Our AC had frozen coils and an overflowing drain pan issue, and he fixed the problem for now and is even returning tomorrow to double check everything and make sure there are no leaks or additional issues.

It is very hard to find honest and knowledgeable technicians nowadays, and Ramon truly stood out. Friendly, respectful, patient, and clearly knows exactly what he is doing. We really appreciated his help and highly recommend him.

5/19/26 - I followed up after regular service with Antonio on a recommendation to increase airflow in a back bedroom. After climbing thru my small attic, he gave me a full description of the situation with pix and determined that the smaller ducts used for the 2 back bedrooms needed to be replaced with larger ones (3" to 6"). He gave me a good estimate and I was able to schedule the work for later that same day. Jordan (who did my AeroSeal work last Nov) and Jaylen came out and replaced the ducts in the bedroom with the weakest airflow. What a difference! They were unable to reach the 2nd bdrm due to the lack of rafters to stand on in my garage ceiling, but with the difference in the other bdrm, my house temp is now much more balanced. Great work by Jordan and Jaylen!
I'd highly recommend Aztil Air and their service teams. They are all up front and honest and I've never been disappointed with their work.

11/6/25 - I had the AeroSeal duct sealing process done today, and Jordan and Skylar were great. Jordan explained the whole process before they started and they answered my (many) questions throughout. It takes about 3-4 hours and the guys covered our furniture in the vent areas, checked for mold/dirt in the ducts, cleaned them all out, then applied the AreoSeal spray. The leakage was reduced significantly when completed - the air flow in the room at the end of the duct run was greatly improved.
Both techs were helpful throughout , right down to cleaning up the minor debris from the vent covers when done. I’d definitely recommend Aztil and Jordan & Skylar for this process.

10/21/25 - Our tech, Elder, provided great service along with good information on how to maintain my HVAC system since we’re not here full time.
He resolved the error I was receiving which shut my system down and explained how to prevent it. Thanks Elder!
